ECOWAS Committee Commends Nigeria Customs Boss On B’Odogwu Innovation, Increased Revenue

The trade committee of the Economic committee of West Africa ( ECOWAS) has commended the Nigeria Customs Boss Wale Adeniyi for his sense of innovation by initiating the unified Customs Management Systems also known as B’ODOGWU. Speaking, while on a courtesy visit to PTML Command in Apapa which served as a pilot area for the implementation of B’ODOGWU, the Director of Trade ECOWAS, Kolawole Sofola praised Adeniyi and PTML Command for the great achievements in trade facilitation and revenue generation recorded within the period of its implementation. Sofola further commended the Nigeria customs service NCS in enhancing economic growth through trade facilitation and suppression of smuggling. He specifically lauded the Controller of PTML Tenny Daniyan for deploying the technology to achieve greater productivity in terms of revenue generation.

In his response, the Custom Controller PTML Daniyan thanked the committee for the visit and informed them that since B’ODOGWU came on board, the command has collected over N230 billion as of May 2025 . He told the committee that B’ODOGWU is unique in the sense that it is a home grown application developed by the NCS Officers in partnership with the Trade Modernization Projects ( TMP).
